AN EXHIBITION OF FRAMED SPACE BY NOBBY SEYMOUR

Woodbine Art, Malmsbury, Victoria - 6 March to 3 April 2016

B A N G

That was a moment when
Time began.
Our time, too,
And one billion years of our time later
A plasma of mass/energy
Curdled into matter, leaving a whey of frenetic fluid
Which settled, cleared  -  the Etherium.

You can see to your toes
Or to a galaxy light-years away,
Through this Etherium.
Within it I have constructed
Frames
That imply volumes of a different space.

Through intimate spaces,
Voids
We might read as gaps in matter,
I have ruptured these spaces;
Linear members pass through and new harmonies spring forth.

We read space through our sensibility: While our nervous system has evolved to assess force and matter, it is only through our memory that we can mark the passage of time.

It is now more than 100 years since Einstein published his Theory of General Relativity. In our spatial consideration, perhaps we could be more aware of our memory and its focus, Time, in respect of it being an integral factor in the spacetime/gravity continuum through which we hurtle.

The images are displayed in the order of their execution
